When a School Needs Fixing…

When standardized tests were first invented, they were thought to measure intelligence. However,  there has always been a pattern: those of lower socioeconomic status always performed way below those who were more privileged. The greatest prevailing factor in determining the outcome of test scores has to do with access to resources. Since states want to start comparing the test scores and, therefore, teacher performance, across the state, then, we should also be comparing the resources available at each school and factor those in, as well.
